Damn, had a crash

Comming back from a soccer game, roads are wet.
I enter a fairly large round about, and as im exiting I hit the gas a lil too much. Feel it slide. Let go of the throttle and couter steer, and start to gain control. Then feel the left back wheel dip into a pot-hole and round n round I go.
Cracked rear left wheel and broke an axel.

Bad luck man,
Government is always happy to spend money on preachy TV ads but don't seem to realise -or care- that if they kept the roads in better condition then there'd be a lot fewer accidents.
I hate it when you turn into a round about and *BANG* there a great big ******* hole in the middle of the road.
Road serfices round inner Melb are shite

Thanks for the replies fellas,
Its been a shit day, but i realise how lucky i was. What scares me the most is that i could have killed someone if there was on coming traffic.
Thanks for all the support.

I just had a little accident at a roundabout today too! It was wet and I went in a little too fast and me sprinter under-steered and hit the edge of the pavement pretty hard. My left front wheel now has a dent. Not sure if anything else is damaged.
And on my way home, I turned into a 90 degree corner and started drifting/sliding and I over-corrected 3-4 times and occupying both lanes. Good thing there were no cars - scary shit!
Oh well its good that nothing worse went wrong and I will noe drive more carefully on wet roads - duh lol

i agree with spirokeet that government dont fix roads and dont fix properly when they do.
but this is not to say that we dont drive like idiots at times though i cant believe i just said that
they are spending millions of dollars on some star wars defence system... what about our roads first ay! and more importantly what bout all the homeless and starving in the world!!!

Politicians want media exposure, fixing bad roads doesn't give them that, so it's not something they are really interested in.
I wonder how many accidents can be attributed to, or aggravated by bad road infrastructure?
Cheers, Yves.

I dont think stiffer suspension will give you more grip in the wet...
Strangely enough, my mates and I always get pulled over by randoms in the wet commenting on our driving skills. Funny what a skid pan day can do for you.

Sounds like a few of you need to learn how to drive. I've witnessed a few losers getting sideways in the rain and getting it all out of control.
IF u Can't control your car - don't get sideways.
FOOLS.!!.

i recon ay! not everything happens intentionally so when it comes out from nowhere not response is not always perfect... now i was drifting and went too far and admit it but it doesnt mean we cant control our cars
for me i wanted to go that bit further and see what happens, and i found out but i done this at 1am with noone on the orad...
i do not encourage driving like that with parked cars, people or any other moving object other than your car and your car alone on the road... if that is not possible then find somewhere/dont do it or wait for skid pan days

Ive got way sideways too.. but never lose control. You don't push a bit further till u make a mistake... if you do that your just a wanker. The way to drive is to push to your limit and know that pushing that little bit harder would be to to break that limit.
LEARN TO DRIVE !

but if you dont test your limits:
1. you wont know your limits
2. you wont learn how to go beyond your limits and control the car still
3. where are you supposed to learn to drive? ON THE ROAD
i aint trying to start an argument but before calling people wankers:
a) wolf underestimated his acceleration and lost control
b) i meant to go beyond the limit to learn how to control further & i did it when streets were empty. I MEANT TO DO IT, I KNEW THE POSSIBILTY OF HITTING GUTTERS AND WHATEVER AND I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING TO GO WRONG IF I COULDNT DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
c) now the first time i did it again and have learnt how to control it at that particular acceleration and turning angle
SO
d) i will go even further next time to keep learning
its not about making mistakes but learning from them!!! so before calling people names reaad the posts properly and find out what we are saying

Drivers driving around trying to 'find their limits' is about as safe as a 2 year old behind the wheel.
If u don't know how to control your car, go to a track or skid pan day.
You guys will just end up killing a pedestrian or yourselves.
Sorry but the only place limits should be pushed is a race track. If you know your limits, you don't hit gutters. hehe.
