4A-FE changing alternator, power steering, water pump belts Sat, 24 July 2004 09:13
I'm trying to replace the belts on my gf's rolla. The engine is 4A-FE

There's 3 belts. 1 for the alternator, 1 for the power steering and 1 for the aircon. I've managed to get the largest (alternator) belt off. It has a tensioner and another hidden locking nut.
Now, the power steering belt has a locking nut which is easily accessible, I've undone that but it still doesn't loosen the belt.
The air con belt has a tensioning pulley which has a tensioning bolt, but after releasing that, the belt still isn't loose.

I've been looking all over, and for the life of me, can't find anything to release them.

I'm sure someone has done this "simple" maintenance job.
Any help appreciated.

Anyone got a service manual? That would help Wink
