Tic Tacs contain carnuba wax. Used for car polishes, boards wax, furniture wax etc etc.
Who can top that. Not wierd ingredients like bugs or stomachs used in recipies. Preferable that aren't actual foods.

For weird foods, you can't beat us Asians...
One of my favoritest of foods in the whole wide world is this Vietnamese thing called Nêm. It's basically pork (with a bit of garlic and chilli) that gets wrapped up and left to ferment for a few weeks...
Not to mention chicken feet and swallow's nest... Or Thousand Year Old Eggs...

Coconut slice is red and white. The red color is from cochineal dye, which is derived from crushed Mexican scale beetles.

Well there was no prize offered (how about a box of tic tacs ) but you are one of the few responses with a non food however wierd ingredient. I thought GT would come up with something better. how about doing some tests on hospital food. Now THATS not real.
how about:
MAGGOT CHEESE (Sardinia): What is the cheese called that they make in Sardinia? The one where they leave the cheese out covered with cheesecloth so flies will lay their eggs in it, let the maggots hatch, then spread it on bread (including live maggots) and eat it? Now *that* is a bizarre food,
We at leat call it Brawn and it's not bad.
But it's real product.
Kraft cheese, known as "food product" the only cheese not in the dairy, but the only cheese to use for toasted sangas.

A mate of mine worked as a butcher for a while. The way they make aged meat is they leave it to mould or whatever for like 3 months, cut the mould off and sell it for a lot of $$$. Another weird thing is frogs legs and snails, i dont care if it is a delicatessen

Some asian people drink a soup made from "Tiger penis"
And if you go to a chinese herbalist.. you'd get bugs.. strange tree shavings.. etc. - for more soup... etc.
But nothing beats TIGER PENIS!

Well, filo's eat a dish which I don't know how to spell, but sounds like dinaguan. It's stewed-up pig's blood. And don't forget the delicacy 'balut' which is a duck's egg that is taken from the nest a day before it is due to hatch, and then eaten. It's fucking disgusting to look at (it's a fully formed baby duck, curled up in a egg) but I am told that the juice is delicious, and the beak, claws and feathers are the best bit coz they are crunchy.

Yeah, we Vietnamese eat the baby chicks too. I know the Vietnamese name, but I don't think I'll try to spell it.
Oh, and the beaks *are* crunchy.

It's a Vietnamese noodle soup. It's awesome. But if you go there and don't feel like that, just order barbecued chicken with sauce. Mmmmmmm...... Oh, and don't forget the tomato rice!

Beef noodle soup.
Think Indian, think curry.
Think Japanese, think Sushi.
Think Vietnamese, think Pho.
Pho Pasture is OK. There's much better in Cabra though.
