4AGZE - Modifications Mon, 26 July 2004 12:48 Go to next message
Hi all,

looking at the following mods for my 4AGZE AW11. Would appreciate some feedback on each mod and any others that I may have over looked.

In particular what sort of gains can be had

1. fitting 4AGE camshafts
2. Added Nevo overdrive pulley kit
3. Custom extractors
4. Intercooler waterspray
5. Move air filter into engine bay with custom sheilding with thermo fan mounted to underside of boot/engine bay lid.

Any help or comments on the above would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Moving the Air filter into the engine would have to be warmer than on the boot - if you follow where the filter is there is a long pipe running from the right hand vent in the side of the car all they way around inside the boot to the air filter ( Cold air intake )

Yep i know.

Its been suggested that moving the air filter with a custom sheilf into the engine area and mounting a thermo fan on the underside of the lip blowing air to the filter would be an improvement. Obviously before I do it im hoping some on here can provide some tips

1200det, you get much more 'cooler' air passing up through the engine bay than in the boot of a AW11.

4AGZE, a good search on here and on here http://www.mr2oc.com/index.php?s=
would answer a lot of your questions.

after having a good old look at how to keep them cool
if u were to put some sort of underbody wing to scoop up the cold air going under the car up threw the engine bay........

that would work the best.

and BEST BEST BEST BEST THING.......... move your battery under the bonnet and take the air intake out of the boot! and just put it in the engine bay!
