hey, im looking at the 4age conversion for my ae92 corolla that came with the 4afc engine and ive found a jap import for cheap in good condition without a gearbox. i was wondering if i need to change my gearbox or i can use the one i have now. i realise that the 100kw flywheel will probably be bigger but i dont want to buy a whole gearbox. thanx
im using the original 4ac gearbox out of my ae82, its had 170,000 k;s on it with the 4ac i've only done about 2000ks on the new motor.
so yeh u can use the standard one but the ratios are not as good as a 100kw one or the 20v if u can get it is quite nice [shorter ratios] but its up to u man just be gentle with ur standard one and u should be fine. ie no slamming it into 2nd gear i know its hard not to
