nearly finished my conversion, just wanna make sure i hook up the oil cooler corectly. ive mounted it upside down which i assume doesnt matter, as long as the feed from the oil sandwhich plate goes to the BOTTOM of the cooler, am i right?
its a GZE with regular 4afe oil cooler.
thanks.

I would assume the feed from the sandwich plate should go to the top of the oil cooler, that way once it comes out of the oil line, which is easy to pump oil through, it can pretty much fall through the oil cooler, rather than having to be pumped up through it, which must be alot harder to do.
This is how I've hooked mine up, although it's not running yet.
It's also how pretty much all upright radiators flow, with the fluid flowing down through core.

i just thought it may need to pump up through the bottom to ensure it fills up without any air pockets in the cooler.

hey - how does everyone have their oil coolers draining into their sumps?
I pulled mine off a car where there was just a banjo bolt on the sump drain plug.... but then i saw my sisters AE92 csi which has like a special tube?
ARGH!

i have only seen the banjo/sump plug one you have on the ae112 turbos for the oil return.
all ae82s, ae92s, ae95s etc ive seen have the special fitting on the sump halfway back up near the top.

how you gonna fit the sump in your pocket? unless you wanna drill a hole in your sump and weld a nut on the inside.
