Do they fail? or can they be corrupted by physical conditions or over the time?
its more likely to be mechanical.. but my cars running rich lately.. ive used BP 98 Ultimate for the past month.
Soon as i got the headers done, i did about 100KM local suburb driving and only used 1/4 of my tank.
this week.. driving the same routes/roads.. i only reach 50/60kms before the needles goes to 1/4.
could the 02 sensor be dirty? there seems to be some backfire/muffler poping puffing out little burts of gas on gear changes.. could this be the exhaust ports?
it probably isnt the ignition.. theres no power loss nor does it have a hard time.
sorry im asking alot and just blabbing on about.. when i should look futher into to it.. but im not really capable of looking into the engine yet.. just learning slowly
Any number of sensors from the O2 sensor, water temp sensor, air flow sensor could be causing this rich running. Also, try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes to reset the ECU. It could be stuck in a "limp home" mode.
Are your spark plugs worn out?
Do you have a distributor and is the timing out?
Jump t and e1 and watch the flashing light for codes.
These are the same 2 terminals that you use to check the timing with.
Let us know if there are any codes. This assumes that you havent been randomly pulling off plugs from sensors though.
