I think they are H4 globes, I could be wrong. If they are that bad, just new H4 globes should do the trick. Most are 55/65w I think. Or you can get 100watt ones, but I think they are sold for rally and not realy road legal. Not sure.

You could try Osram/Hella/Narva (in that order in terms of preference) Plus 50s which are brighter. If they still arent bright enough then youll have to save up for a Xenon gas discharge system.

I used to use 90/130's and they were barely adequate.
I now use HID's and they're not too bad at all.
Don't go for anything less than 90/130's though as they won't be strong enough. (albiet technically illegal)

I have 80\100s in mine, they are not too bad (of course I have good eyes in the first place.......... ), not as good as a HID set-up. But then again they don't cost the same either.
They might be illegal but I have never been booked for them.....

Bill, did you have any problems connecting yours? I tried installing mine but no lights come up when I turn it on - am wondering if I'm missing something such as having to upgrade relays or something else ...

Yah, 90/130s are still pretty ordinary - ableit, this is on 20 year old lights that could probably do with rebuilding/polishing. The only HIDs I've tried have been factory setups in cars - anyone got anything to recommend (brand, price, etc.) for HIDs?

i dont know if its my beam or my globe...when i drive at night..i can only see the lights shine till a lil above the front bumper...in driving position of course...
i tried adjusting the beam..but didnt do much help...i got a mate's headlight which shine damn far and quite high up...
i basically want something bright enough to see during the night when there's no street lights around...i find hard looking at the road's marking during rain as well...pretty dodgy

Prices for HID's are getting more affordable these days - about two years ago they were like $1,500; then a year ago they were around the $1k mark and now even cheaper.
I got my kit from the US relatively cheap around the $350 mark however they're only low beams. From what I heard, that'd be more than enough.
May have put wiring wrong way around - will check again tonight ...

It was done when the car was getting the 3SGE conversion and so I just handed the kit to the guy and said "make that work."
I then left the country for three months and when I came back it worked.
So yeah, it was pretty easy.
I'm not sure how they all go together but make sure you don't have one of the occasional Toyota electrical systems where they have 12v going to both sides of the bulbs to have them off, then drop the volts on one side to make them come on.
