The 7MGTE injectors are supposed to be a good upgrade, seeing as you'd need an aftermarket ECU to properly use any different size one, they'd be a good upgrade.

Thanks JCM Frank.
Would it be hard to get a decent idle out of these, being near double the size?

As I said, I wouldn't bother upgrading the injectors unless you were going to change to an aftermarket ECU.

You could always put the larger Gen 3 injectors withou changes to the ECU. Thas what i am doing..
The are i think 245cc

Thats incorrect, 1) the Gen3 are a different impedence, and 2) you're always going to be running rich because the ECU still thinks it has the smaller injectors.
3) It's probably not a big enough increase to be worth it.

It might work, from memory the Gen3 are high impedence, but they also don't run a ballast resistor, maybe you can remove the resistor, I dunno

Okies just measured the impedence of the two diffrent injectors. The are both 13.6 Ohms. so i guess they are not diffrent...

Yeah i am sure. The came of my gen2 motor in my shed and i brought the gen 3 of Luke(eviljack) I have not checked the ones on the car which i know is also a gen2.
I know the engine in the shed is a gen2 by the turbo's. The exaust does not have a spearte collector like the gen3.
Anyways here are the part numbers if it helps
Both are:23250-70080
Diffrence being
Gen2:0d18
Gen3:8e07

Gen 3 are high imp and gen 1 are low imp.
Andrew, i have a set of 7mgte 440cc squiters that i will be putting into my 1g. However i use a EMS computer otherwise running them with a stock computer the car would run so rich to a point that it would not idle. The good thing is that the 7mgte injectors locator pins on the plugs actually match the 1s on the Gen 1 loom, however on the gen 3 thats a different story.
