i have a ke10 corolla and i am wanting to upgrade the engine and transmission. I have the option of placing either a k40 or a k50 gearbox in it and setting it up with a 5k engine of a 4k witha 3k head.
Can anyone help me choose an ideal setup, or if u think these mods would be insufficent.
Can i just bold a 3k head onto my existing 4k?
thanx to anyone that can help

its up to you really, the 5k swap is best if you dont want to much around changing head/cam etc, the 4k is more fun to put together etc
5 speeds are good if you are out on the open road a lot but tend to break easier than the 4 speeds

what Alex said.
some ppl think 4 speeds are stronger, some ppl think 5 speeds are stronger.
i think in reality, it depends on how you treat it.
if you do burnouts and flatchanges, you will quickly break any box. if you treat it nicely, any box will last longer.
4K's tend to be cheap and easy to replace, whereas 5K's cost a bit more.
