i was wondering if anyone has put the DBA vented rotors onto the MA61 supra, and how much difference did it really make??
logic would suggest a reasonable upgrade if decent pads are used as well?? any suggestions??
ive heard that EBC make green stuff pads for them, but i am yet to have that confirmed by anyone reputable..
i did check the old threads, and couldnt find anything substantial... only that most bendix are a waste of time and money.....
thanks in advance people.

Go check: http://www.norbie.net
Have a look at his brakes under Project 2JZ. They are a decent improvement for a street car, but you can't expect miracles, the rotors are still fairly small.

I have DBA slotted rotors and EBC Greenstuff pads on my MA61. It's a substantial upgrade over stock, and probably as good as you're going to get without upgrading to big brakes, and thus bigger wheels etc. Sure you can get better pads, but they fit into the "uber-expensive racing pads" category and generally aren't very streetable (ie noisy, chew up rotors, take a while to warm up etc).
I upgraded pads and rotors at the same time so I can't tell how much difference each made, but I think it's safe to say the pads make the most difference, and the rotors don't do much but look cool. I only got the slotted ones because my stockers needed replacing anyway, and the DBA slotted rotors are only a few bucks more than the standard ones.
One thing to note though, there is a documented problem with Greenstuff pads leaving uneven resin deposits on slotted rotors, which leads to an annoying vibration which feels like warped rotors. It's easily fixed by pulling the rotors off and sanding the resin off, but it's a bit of a pain. If your existing rotors are OK (ie above minimum thickness) I recommend leaving them.

The problem with the Greenstuff from as far as I can gather has been rectified in later batches. I queried this on the Brake Clinic in Performance Forums.

F**k! I had that exact problem with my Greenstuff pads and thought the disk was warped. Only when stopping from high speed, so I didn't notice it tooling around the city at 60kph (which is 90% of my driving) . Sold the car since then, but it's nice to know what the problem was.

This only applies to slotted rotors... if you stick with the standard non-slotted rotors all will be well.
