Hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction,,, 2tgeu is in my sr, it's e.f.i. and i'm running the original tank. Lately i have noticed it's leaking from around the gauge sender unit so i have a couple of ideas.. 1:seal around the area with knead it or similar fuel rsistant sealer and hope it doesn't leak again or 2:replace it with a surge tank or another tank that fits in the space. I don't want to change tanks as i want it to remain as orig as possible inside. Could i relieve the excess pressure in any way??? Thanks in advance

The thing is isn't this going to be under pressure being e.f.i. and 2tg or any injected engine runs fuel pressure constantly until you relieve it by disconnecting the fuel pump. Pretty much the fuel system is under pressure so that's why i think i have a leak.

the tank should certainly not be under pressure if you have set things up right
make sure the tank is vented correctly (look in a parts book/workshop manual to see how it is supposed to be done)
new tank from wreckers should be cheap

Hey all, i have sorted out my problem with my tank leak. I had removed the gauge sender unit for some reason when the 2tg was going in and had put it in the wring way. had it in at work to do some things and removed the unit from the tank, looked at the unit. Now those that know the fuel gauge sender unit has a cutout in it, the tank has a prevision. I used a mirror and lined up the 2 marks put the gauge unit back in and now no more leaks and my fuel gauge (ke35) works with my te71 dash which i put in, full te71 loom, the only sr parts in the electrical side of things are the gauge unit, door switches and interior light. Not sure if it's accurate as i didn't have a full tank of fuel when i noticed the dash working
