I thought i'd just add my own two cents. I am fed up with stupid ignorant people who open their car doors and hit my car taking the paint off my car. Such instance happened to me in a car park, I had actually parked in a space where on my right was the road and on my left was another space for parking. I had actually parked right over to the right hand side so there was alot of room on the left. Being a 76 celica it doesn't need much room. Anyway when upon returning to my car i found that there was a car parked in the spot next to me, he had parked right on the line and i have a look at my car and there is a chip in the door. as furious i was i was contemplating on doing some amateur panel beating on this piece of shit ford, i held back ..... and slashed his tyres. i think that was worth it was my paint job is worth more. i don't think anyone likes this, i left the person enough room to park his car, open his car door and get his fat ass out. but no he instead had to be a prick, so i had to be a c**t.

im surprised you held back! but i agree with ya! i mean even if you have to open the door all the way at least put your hand round the door so if it does hit the car next to yours then at least its your hand hitting and the door

A mate had his chameleon paint job chipped by some c*nt, so he waited for the guy to return before having a go at him and taking it out on the front passenget window and door. He's a crazy bastard

How did you know it was the car that did the damage? was your paint stuck on the other car?

I posted a thread not long ago about this, it drives me bananas, i copped 3 in 1 week and i only parked at work, now I use up 2 spaces and park at a 45degree so no one can touch my car they can only think Im a dickhead, suits me just fine.
If I saw anyone do it and not claim it afterwards, Id just pull out my telescopic batton and go balistic, suits me fine.

I mean do i need 2 put my car in a freakin cage when i park it ???
I put L Plates up tho when i park in a place that might get me a parking ticket.
Thge thing that drives me mad is when people don't say sorry
If they do it and apolagise then i'm fine but if they just don't give a shit then it's hunting season !

It's not like it's HARD to park a car properly! Now I understand why all those 'bastards' with nice cars park across two lanes... it's 'cuz other people can't park! Well done on the tyres. I would wait for them and ask them if they plan on giving you the money to get your car re-sprayed. If they don't, remind them that you are the one with the flick batton and switchblade ready to go to town on their car.

If i have to leave the mr2 i'll park it across 2 parks. Mint panal/paint job on mr2, fuck letting some shitter hit my car!.
Few months ago (evil foetus will know this one) I left my car parralal across 3 parks (normally angle parks) and went for a spin to find someone/something. 15 minutes later i get a phone call from a mate saying "you better get back here, cops are looking over your car saying they are gonna tow it away". It was like after midnight and there was shitloads of carparks left. Screw letting someone bash their doors into the car.

ive returned to my car to find some fat fucking council worker sitting in some piece of shit reading a book with his door resting on my car. I went up to him and asked him what the fuck he was doing and he just shut the door and drove off

I had my Orange Rolla parked outside work and noticed a few guys looking around it... So I went out the back roller door, around the side and hid in the garden... Council workers sitting their asses on my car... I walked out and questioned them as to what the fuck they were doing... He goes, it's alright mate, it's only a shitbox...
At this time, I was peekin... Went bananas... Yelled the fuck at them until my boss came outside to see what was going on...
At work we have seats out the front that are on our property and thats where they were sitting...
So my boss comes down and sticks up for me, he went nutters and threw them off the property...
Luckily there were no dents or scratches... I was ready to call the cops if they did though... I wasn't gunna let them get away...

I got another idea, if your really pissed off because someone hit your car and didnt know who, then drive to a Coles carpark (thats where these pricks hang out) sit away from your car and scope it out till someone hits it, then you have a reason to let out some anger, or you can get them to pay for the damage and have both dents fixed.
Im happy Im no longer getting a metallic respray on my car, cos id probably have to carry some sort of a pocket brickwall that i have to assemble when i park.

Yeah I think this is the worst thing to happen to a car as well. It has been done to my dads c32 amg mercedes and my sprinter. All repaired now but I never park in carparks no more or any places where there is a chance for a door to hit it. But I guess it is better than having some sort of accident or a shopping trolly hit your car.

hmm maybe some one should invent something to help in carparks like magnetic pinstriping you can place at the appropriate height and remove afterwards (may get stolen though unless you could curl it inside the door before you closed it or something).
or perhaps some mini window blinds that fit on the inside of the doors and you leave the windows down just a teeny weeny bit so you can pull them down and magnetically attach the base to below the halfway point of the doors. dunno what material youd need but a light grade shade cloth would probably stop paint chipping.
or a spray on cling-wrap that you could apply to the side and peel off later. saw something similar for taking expensive shiney 4 wheel drives bush. goes on like a spray then dries as a film -its a little hard to see when its on too.
i hate carpark scratches and dents- mines been keyed all down the side, roof and boot after someone (in a carpark) tried to get in to steal something but couldn't.
