Usually this happens due to an excessive carbon buildup on your pistons.
Did you check & clean your pistons when you had the head gasket off?
A blown head gasket could have hidden the dieseling problem if it was blown between one of the water jackets and one of your pistons.

this could also be that your timing is out, check the simple things first

you can always conect a wire to the negative on the coil to a button which is connected to earth. this will kill the engine. but best to find out wot is causing it first.

yeah when i replaced the head gasket, i cleaned all of the coke off the pistons and acid bathed the head and replaced all gaskets etc, before i replaced the gasket i was turning off no probs, now it run fine when you turn the key off the motor increases in revs and you can come back half hour later and its still running, so........ i dont know if i put a kill swich on the -ive side of the coil i wont short anything out?? because its a electronic ignition, timings all in its set around the 12deg mark so its not like a pre ignition,

cheers
