I circled the dent so it can be easily seen.
I asked futher questions. The lady said that she bought it in 2001 and the milage when bought was 86,000km (she wasnt sure) and she bought it for $12,000. She plans to also take it for a service shortly. She said that she is sure of the speakers and headdeck being Pioneer.
Well im really interested in the car (would like to purchase within the next 2 weeks) and i really like the look of it. But i dont know if its worth the price? i mean if i can get it cheaper id certainly be happier beacuse i havnt got much money atm. Is it worth the price $8500AUS ($6,030 US ). SHe said she might bring it down to $8000 which is good but i dunno i still feel it should be cheaper for the fact that it has driven 134,000km. The milage seems fairly high. But yeah how much do you think it is worth? also this is my first car so i want it to last several years ( i dont plan to buy another car for many years).
I want a car that is reliable and comfortable as well as fuel economical. I know i cant get it all. But is the fuel consumption ok? how many litres do you think it uses per 100km on highway and traffic conditions? is there anywhere where i can get specs for this car coz the lady said the car manual is in japanese so i dunno how i can find out this info.
I just hope this engine doesnt need a rebuild anytime soon. But yeah im new to cars and ive just been learning and some say silvias are really bad cars they require engine rebuils quik and others say they are good. Personally i feel that it is how someone handles the car. But yeah what do you think? would it suit my needs ( a student buyin first car, something realiable that looks nice with decent fuel consumption).
sorry about the trouble i just dont know much about Silvias
THanks alot everyone

Thats WAY too high a price.
I am only answering this because my last car was a 90 model silvia and I sold it for 6K - but it was a manual. With 18" rims on it and KYB suspension. And that was a year ago.
Seriously, dont get an auto one, they suck major ass.
And most of the 'features' you listed are standard factory items for 99% of s13's.
But check www.silviansw.com also for inof on these cars, there are enough of them around these days that you can bargain a lot harder than that and get a good deal.
Good luck, and one last bit of advice: get a turbo one.
Perspective: my 1000 dollar MA61 is faster, handles almost as well and looks more or less about as good (except for the 18's).

yeah see i dont want turbo car coz its gonna be hard on insurance. And also i need auto coz im notreally good with manual plus my dad doesnt know how to drive one and his old...and he will drive it from time to time too. Why does auto suck? if its about performance then i dont mind. As long as auto is reliable in silvia's

As for parts and ease of maintenance I would shy away from imports, but they are nice cars and I may be just over cautious. My friend had a twin turbo soarer for a few years only replacing timing belt, nothing else out of the ord..

I used to have a silvia... I haven't checked recently but you might find that the non-turbo and the turbo models pricing in terms or getting insurance for will not be that much of a difference.

don't worry about parts as you can buy brand new parts over the counter at nissan and they usually carry the main one in stock.
Also there are heaps of wreckers with heaps of parts from s13's in stock.
In non turbo auto trim they still chew the juice like you wouldn't believe.
The motors in non turbo will go forever as long as you service it regularly.
the price is a fair bit high and as the other guys said there are so many of them here now just shop around and youll get one at a good price.

I used to own a silvia aswell , since the plates say nsw, definately give this site a hit, www.silviansw.com, especially their forums, http://silviansw.com/forum/index.php. Im sure one will turn up their sooner or later, 8k seems to be a tad much for an automatic 2L in nsw, thats usually the asking price for manuals (generally manuals cost more when it comes to imports). It seems pretty hard to shift autos, so you see can usually see them drop to 6k in price!
As for fuel consumption, my brother has a 2L manual non turbo and it drinks somewhere under 10L/100km. The 8-9L range would be more precise. And thats a manual, the auto will probably use more fuel, depending on your right foot of course.
Ps. Strange that in those pics, there is a 1.8L rear wing on that 2L silvia.

I'm pritty sure the front bar is a bit square for the SR20. It's probably a CA18DE. 1.8, not 2.0. As I understand it they where sold from 89 till 91, then the SR20s took over.

Narh they both had the same front bar stock. Then there was an optional lower front lip, or full nismo front bar.
