HKS Twin Power DLI Distributor Type Connection on 1G-GTE
Sun, 01 August 2004 02:50
We are trying to connect an HKS Twin Power DLI on a Toyota 1G-GTE engine. According to the instructions, the connector Harness should splice into the igniter signal going to the negative on the ignition coil and the other should splice into the positive wire going to the coil on the ignition switch. These instructions are all we got but the coil on the 1G-GTE is different from that on the diagram. There is a 3 wire plug going to the coil. Anyone who could asist pleaase give your 2cents.

I'm not 100% certain but I think the DLI model only works with distributor-less multi coil setups. IIRC they make 2 other variants, 1 for rotaries and one for cars with distributors. HTH

It is the distributor type. there are 3 wires going to the coil on the 1G-GTE. We are unable to accertain which wire is the the igniter signal, power, ground.
check out the link above. I run a DLI and it has 8 wires on it, 6 for the coils a ground and power. Does this sound the same as yours?? The HKS website may have a Tech Support email
