MX83 GLX radio Sun, 01 August 2004 11:30 Go to next message
can anyone tell me if these radios have a security code - im only talking of the basic amfm tape (no cd).

also what buttons are on the dash - the ones that are separate to the radio but do the tuning or whatever.

cheers.

To my knowlege there is no security code.

The buttons on the dash (satellite controls) are the volume knob and the radio presets. The tuning "buttons" are on the radio itself.

I haven't had my stock radio in for ages (it is sitting on my shelf in my bedroom) so I can't remember what the buttons do. I cut them out when they weren't needed. Embarassed

Can I ask why you need to know? Do you have an MX83 or something?

The radio will not work without the satellite controls if that's what you are wondering.

Theres TAPE/AM/FM/PRESET/SCAN then the volume knob on MX-83 in RHD, LHD is mirrored.

well my crown has a similar setup with the dash controls.

but it wont tune in above 89Mhz and I need to get it converted or just change to the cressida radio.

both the crown and cressida are double din, I guess that the quality of these units r pretty crap but I want to keep the dash looking normal.

thanx

The Tape deck is very sweet from the MX83 (fully programmable, track repeat, etc), and the radio is pretty good, providing you have a good antenna.

They are pretty nice units if you ask me... I just needed a CD that's the only reason I took mine out.
