Hey
just wondering if its possible to convert a FWD engine to RWD, and what parts i would need, thinking about maybe doing a 4AGE converison into my ke30, but finding a RWD 4AGE at a cheap price is hard, whereas there are plenty of FWD ones around.
cheers David

Well this conversion has been done a million times so doing a search on the forums would help. But just quickly.
Get your FWD 4AGE
Buy all the RWD bits you need from a wrecker of a 4AC or you could get them for free of some wreck. You'll need the water pump and fittings for the cooling system off the 4AC at least and off you go.
Oh yeah, don't forget to put a spigot bearing in the crank.
Cheers

Hi Nathan, the spigot bearing, is a small ball race bearing, which is fitted to the rear of the crankshaft. The spigot bearing supports and centralizes the gearbox input shaft. They are not often used in FWD engine gearbox combo's, because the gearbox input shaft is left shorter than normal. This is to facilitate easier clutch replacement in FWD cars.
Hope this helps.
regards Chuck.
