does anyone here know any major differences between hilux and hiace rear axles? any info would be a help such as ratios for hiace (hilux has been discused many times) series (F,G or what)
also width is a small issue due to flares
im just thinking of other tuff diff options for a xE70 i dont require an LSD it will be locked.

Hilux and Hiace both have G series centres. Widths vary but apparently the Hiace ones are generally wider than the Hilux ones. There is also a wide variety of ratios in both types, depending on year and engine option, but I've never seen anything taller than 4.1:1.
IMO a G series is overkill for a Corolla unless you've managed to squeeze a big engine in there (eg 2JZ or 1UZ). You might be better off getting a smaller, lighter (but still tough) F series diff, eg MS112 Crown.

little kids SRE70 to be exact (yes its getting a SR20DE and will be getting a turbo later down the track)
this car will be a drift pig so it needs to have a tuff diff and axles that can take plenty of abuse. 5 stud is preferable for the choice of rims in the correct size and offset too.
what year crown is that? also what diff do MX70-80 cressidas have?
irs is an option aswell.

MX73's have trailing-arm IRS with an F diff, MX83's have double wishbone IRS with a G diff. Trying to jam either of these into a KE70 Corolla would be a massive undertaking; we're talking some hardcore engineering here. I suspect any Cressida rear end would be much too wide for a Corolla anyway.

MS112 is a 1980-84 Crown. It's the only Australian model with a live rear AND disc brakes. Width is 1410mm hubface to hubface.

AE71 bog warmer diff is 1420mm face to face - hence why this is perfect!
