TA22 auto choke with extractors help

Hey guys,
I've fitted some extractors from my wrecking car to my driving car which has the standard carby on it at the moment.
My problem is that the original carby took its auto choke feed from an outlet on the exhaust manifold which the extractors doesnt have.
Is there a way to get the auto choke to work without having to have an outlet put into the extractors? They currently have a small tube welded to the outside of the extractors which looks like it is to be used to take heat only to a fitting on the original carby (orig manifold had that too)
If its too much bother I have a Webber on the wrecking car I am eventually going to fit, but need to fix the auto choke butterfly's on it too!
Thanks
Floppy

You live in Queensland; why do you want a choke at all? My TA22 never had a working choke and it never presented a problem.

Hey norbie,
I was wanting it working to see if it was why my fuel economy was so bad, but then again this car has sat in someones shed unused since 1998
I have a webber I am going to put on, which has the choke butterfly's removed as well. Guess for the reasons you mentioned about being in brissy
I think I will overhaul the webber before putting it on, its in a car thats been sitting for about the same time too.
Thanks
Dave

if the choke was on all the time then that would most likely be the cause of your bad fuel economy issue.

yeah I think thats what it is.
Going to hopefully get the webber on this week. And have a friend with a collection of escort bits which he has about 15 webbers some with water auto chokes others with electric ones!
But just going to put it on without the choke butterflies first up.
Take it for a spin and see the difference.
Murphy hit today though, trying to get the old corroded thermostat housing off, both bolts broke next 2 hours was spend removing base of the thermostat housing from front of motor and taking to vice and hacksawing the old housing off oh what fun.
