Stock a ae82 twincam with the 86kw 4age engine stock does around the 16.5-17 second 1/4 i believe just to give u a guide
ae93 Corolla sx with the 100kw 4age engine stock does around the 16.5 mark..
Ae92 would be the same IF it had the 4age engine, but u'd get the ae93 straight away if anything!!!

yeah id also like to know what other 4age corollas are running.
if the stock 100kw AE92 does 1/4 mile in 16.5, would it be out of the question for my 100kw ae82 to do flat 16 cause its like 150kg or something lighter?

Maybe not 13's, but you should be able to beat stock wrx pretty easily, all stock V6's and most V8's. There a demon motor the 4agze, very much under-estimated most of the time.

I doubt a ae93 seca lift back with a 4agze engine n 5spd gearbox out of a ae101 would even pull 14's, maybe 15's or 16's, not speaking from experience, but from what i have heard they would be closer to 15's or 16's, FLYNSX's car has a 4AGTE with alot of mods from what i have heard it only pulls mid 13's.

most GZE AE92's do a flat 15 to low 14.
Beyond a 14 and the power to weight starts causing traction issues which requires better driving or car setup.

I have a AE 92 Corolla with a 4agze in it, My car would do a mid to high 14's on a good day! That is stock as well..
I guess it all depends on what type of 4agze you have in it, because there are different types AF and MAP.
Map have more power and more technology when in to it, making it a better motor than the AF.

The ae86 would perform much better with a standard gze than an ae92 for the obvious reasons (lighter car by 200kg's,rear drive)but it would need a decent L.S.D and probably a OS pulley to pull 13.6 methinks?

WOULD DO or DOES DO ???
Do you have time slips ???
Sorry to sound rude but just saying my car WOULD/COULD DO is really annoying as you prove nothing.
I say this as i know AW11 SC'S do roughly 14.9-15.00 seconds down the quarter and this is a lighter car with L.S.D rear drive and mid engine traction,so excuse me if i find it hard to believe a front engined corolla ae92 (and i have owned one and loved it) could do mid 14's stock with a 4agze.
I would back your car for 15.5-16 quarter with a stock gze whether MAP or AFM.
Best regards Superaw11.
|
frm what i observe, the ae92 and ae101 4agze does have lots of difference when driven although the spec sheet only shows a few kw difference

Hmmm interesting stuff.
I'm in the final steps of putting an AE101 4AGZE into my AE92 GTi. I was expecting mid 15's with the following:
Stock AE101 MAP 4AGZE
Stock boost
Stock ecu
Genie extractors
2.5inch exhaust
Superlight rims
Falken Azenis RT215's
Partially stripped interior
Should I be expecting better times?

Well no offence but i never had much resistance from any front wheel drive corolla's in my old ta22.
Not saying i would have bet every single one i raced but i did race a few, The only one that was close (i mean a bee's dick) was an 90 seca sx with air filter, extractors, and exhaust, He said he had something done to the timing (?)
My car ran a 16.1 at 85mph at Tarmak dragway.
That might give you a bit of an indication, or not

toyota did come out with a version like that in the ae92 levin and probably the aw11 mr2 in australia as well. although this is a 7rib bigport head instead of the 3 rib.

At the workshop we built a 100kw motor, forged pistons, polished and cleaned up a bit, for a customer. He put a s15 turbo on it running 16 psi, aftermarket copmuter, and exhaust and pod. it was in a ae92 and ran a 12.8 @ 110mph at wsid. He was so happy he came back with his friend to get another engine built.

Hey guys,
what do you reckon about a ta22 with a 4AGE, small port, rebuilt, extractors, pod, exhaust and heavy clutch. It goes beautifully on the street, but am taking it out to powercruise to see what it does on the strip. 15's...high 14's if I am lucky. What would be the best rpm to change at? 6500 or 7500?
Cheers,
crok.

If you crack 14s with that setup I would be very impressed. I would guess mid to high 15s over the quarter for you. The general rule of thumb is don't bother going past the rpm point where your power curve starts to drop away (if you have a dyno graph to look at). Shift at or just before that point of decline.
If you have some dyno curves you could work it out pretty easily but basically you want to stay within the meat of your torque when you shift and not drop out of it.
Just go and have fun and try different things, let us know what you run.
