ta22 bonnet **BRAND NEW** never been used.

hey there
i've come accross a panel place in geelong who has alot of panels out the back that has been sitting there since his dad owned the shop...
there is, in brand new never used condition:
a ta22 bonnet (LT style)
a ta23 bonnet...
a left hand side fender panel (74-75 shape)
both have been sitting there for close to or over 30 years..
they all still have the part number written on them by toyota.
WHY? you ask?... well apparently way back when celica's were brand new, there was a hail storm in ballarat much like the one in sydney a bit ago, the panels on these cars were wrecked, so toyota specially made new parts and shipped them over as replacements.
more than needed was sent over and this panel guy has some for sale...
he wants $350 for each bonnet & $200 for the lhs fender
remember these parts are BRAND NEW, never been used, they are not replica's...
they have dust all over them, but have no rust, no dents...
i grabbed a second ta22 bonnet for myself...
so... who's interested?

Is the price negotiable?
I am after a good bonnet, but $350 is a little steep for me...

i have taken pictures of these parts...
so if anyone would like some, let me know which part you want to see and give me your emails as im having difficlulty geting a free website to host the pics...
to let you all know however, i took the pics in the guys loft, where it's not so bright, so images may be difficult to see properly, and since the bonnets and gaurd are all black, makes it even more difficult to see...
however i gaurantee that from what i've seen each panel is:
99% dent free
99% rust free
90% scratch free
(ps. i wont say 100% just incase i missed something, and the 90% is cos after wiping down, the lhs gaurd has a scratch on it.)

as said before, i'm doin this through another guy just cos i think these bonnets should be used and not left sitting for another 30 years.
i spoke to him about the steep prices... and i got him to goto $300 but he won't do less than that... he said they are brand new etc etc... and will never be come accross again.
so yeah, up to all you guys...

i've mentioned to others but haven't posted yet that the guy is a mate of my cousin, which is the only reason i know of it's existance...
he was never interested in parting them, he felt he had better things to do with his time...
after i asked nicely,he said if i take care of it all then sure, he will sell...
these are the prices if no one likes it they can goto hell...
those were pretty close to his exact words, anyways, i got him down a smidge on price, that's the best i can do.
currently troy is organising frieght for the ta22 bonnet. the ta23 is still readily available.
there is of course the other ta22 bonnet, which i've put my name to, however i'd only let that go if the offer was too good. otherwise it's mine. sorry.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, But I'm getting my car resprayed and I NEED a new bonnet. Mines rusted too badly.

i got one i have been keeping as a spare, currently sitting on my other celica.
i'd let it go for $100
but it's not perfect... like, i mean, the bonnet itself is straight and there is no rust or dents etc...
however, it once had rust along the edges, but that's been welded up and had primer sprayed around it.
the underneath needs a sandblast
and i think there's a spot in the middle that may have been bogged up by a previous owner...
however, with a good cleanup and repsray... so long as it was looked after, you'd have yourself a good bonnet
so yeah... normally i'd let it go for like 50 bucks, but if i get rid of it, it would mean i'd have to buy a car cover for the celica it's sitting on...
so up to you, but that's the best i can do.
unless...
i still got that never been used before bonnet, which still hasn't been used as of yet... it's going for $300, but i'd only be willing to part with it, for a GT style bonnet that was in pretty good nick... however, chances of that are unlikely...
but yeah... best i can do at the moment

I've got a brand new RA28 bonnet, has 4 dints from storage. I got a good one on my car so this is surplus, best offer close to $300
