Kay,
i've got my self an 1988 toyota supra with a 1g-gte. What type of hp would i expect if i got bigger turbo's/ single turbo, exhaust, ecu ect ect ect

or would it be a waste of time and mo???? .....cos the car is pretty heavy

i dun know about a 1jz gte conversion
i've gottem quotes of $4000 for an engine/ gearbox + $1500 for the conversion

at the moment it is a totally stock car with 60,000km's on the dial.

i'm really unsure??????? might just sell it and go for a 199+ soarer?

well first to do i piss of them small ct12's and go for a bigger decent single turbo, but not 2 big as you will sacrifice your boost response, remember its only a 2 litre, it wont spool up a bigger turbo that quick and being i a heavy car it will be even worse as the lack of torque you will have.

I also would be interested in some of the modes that members have done to increase the performance of 1ggte engines!!

well i was thinking if you could make decent hp out of the 1g-gte engine, that'll just keep me going till i can save enough mo for a conversion.

even so i might be happy with the hp the engine is producing
just don't want to pour mo into it and then go "oh shit" shoulda bought a 1jz-gte

yea
i was also told to fit a custom manifold to fit a single turbo
i was thinking 3inch exhaust and ecu, pods ect
pretty much most bolt on applications
has anyone out there mod-ed up thier 1g-gte????
*needs help*

get a good 3 inch exhaust and a good filter, fit a bleeder valve and wind the boost up to 1 bar.
should get around 150rwKW.

The best mod you can do for you car is piss off the little 1G and get something with more off-boost torque. Like the 1JZ.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 1G, but it's not suitable for a car that heavy. You want torque, not power. Unless it's gonna be a track-only car...

You should be able to sell off the 1G which will offset the price of the JZA70 front cut a little...
