quote:
"the "r" probably means for racing purpose only and these motors werent available for the public. 1166cc, DOHC, and 16v. this is what i got from toysport's website:
"There was also a 150E 16-valve version of the 3K / 4K engines. These 16 valve heads were the forerunners of today's 4AG, 3SG, 7MG, and 2JZG engines. These were race only non-production heads, with heavily modified blocks"
---
"Very Sweet! That 3K-R has the individual throttle bodies with the slide fuel injection. This was a very popular fuel injection set up used by Toyota in their 1970s and early 1980s racing applications. The 18RG with this side fuel injection made 280hp."

With that small capacity you could use it in a liter/sprint car

those are some bloody nice welds on them there exhaust bits. certainly don't see that kinda quality every day. i like the colours, too, though i have to wonder how long they'd last at race temperatures before flaking off.
certainly puts the 3K-H in my KE30 to shame.

You need to do that on engines that are constantly running in such a high rev range

I think it's called crinkly coat or something. 18R-Gs and 2T-Gs had the same sort of texture - but black.
