Help me find a good daily driver!

Hi everyone!
As some of you know I own an mk3 Supra which I plan to start work on next year, in other words take it apart and rebuild it.
Some time in the first quater of next year, I plan to get a loan of about 10 to 15 grand and buy a good reliable daily driver. I work in the construction industry, so a ute, 4wd or wagon might be the best option. And yes, id prefer a Toyota but it dosen't have to be this make.
Anyone got any suggestions on what i should look for?

I got mine as a hand-me-down from my dad, a 96 V6 sedan like mine will prob be about 10k, they def dont have anything to do with performance in stock form but for a daily, they last forever. i guess wagons will be a bit more

If you plan on working on your car, I can recommend nothing more than to get yourself a ute.
For the number of times I've ended up with gearboxes on the passenger's seat, motors in the boot (and impossible to lift out mind you), and hired utes to move stuff I wish I'd bought one years ago.
One final piece of advice is... borrow half as muchas you think you can afford

i was going to say buy a Sherpa, they are cheap to run (545cc of raw power) and you can fit heaps of stuff in the back (4age's fit with plenty space left) .
and if you put a good air cleaner on it and advance the timing as far as you can before detonation, they can be a ball tearer of a fun car around town.
but you want to keep with toyota..

You could pick up a decent liberty wagon for that much, awd and lots of space.

Thanks for the replies!
I've been looking into it, and there is a allot of options.
Certainly considering my line of work a ute would be the best, but unless its a dual-cab the 2 seats are a bit of a problem. However wouldn't a dual cab greatly reduce the amount of space in the ute tray? Kind of defeating the purpose somewhat?
So far I am looking up these cars:
- Hilux single and Dual Cab
- Falcon AU Ute (i6)
- Camry wagon (V6)
- Subaru Liberty
- Subaru Forester
- rebuilt XD and XE Falcon wagon with injected 5.0L V8
- VN to VR Commodore wagon (V8)
Yeah, I know, the insurance costs and petrol money for the V8 now days is screwy, but it is very tempting due to their sheer size and reliability of Aussie V8's. So far the Hilux, Camry and AU Ute seem the best options... I know next to nothing about Subaru's but from what I hear they are reliable, and certainly giving them consideration.
You guys have helped more than you may think, cheers!!

No. I mean borrow half as much as you think you can afford. Why borrow MORE than you think you can afford?
I was suggesting that if getting a loan for a depreciating asset, you would be daft to overextend yourself.
