does the car still have oil in it? if so the drain it and give it a service. also i would take the sump off and give it a clean and also the block.

9 months the oil residue in there would most probably be dry and all stuffed, so just with a rag give it a clean from inside

dont take the sump off, they are a pain to put back on with new gaskets cause the bolts are so short! i would drain the oil and put new oil in, put a new oil filter on after filling it with clean oil, then i would put a couple of squirts of engine oil down the spark plug holes, then i would turn the motor over by hand a few times. put the plugs back in and crank it over Smile

yeh drain the oil and put new stuff in it along with a new oil filter.

then b4 you go to start it disconect the coil wiring plug and crank it over for 5 - 10 secs, until oil pressure light on dash goes offto be sure the engine has build up oil pressure. then reconnect coil and start it up.

you should also after you start it up put a good quality engine flush through and then change the oil and filter again.

i know it's a pain but it's a lot cheaper than rebuilding the engine.

After time the oil will solidify and go hard where it should be wet. the flush cleanes out the hard deposits.
We use it at work in everyservice and it really works.

thanks Nathan

that or run it for 20 mins on the oil thats in it, get it hot,
the oil that starts circulating will pick up most of the shit, then drain that oil out, and put in new oil/filter...
Sort of flushes the engine first.. + do the coil thing for pressure too.
