r34 GTR intercooler in a ra23

As most of you know, I have most of the bits for my turbo setup now, but I'm lacking an intercooler. I have considered the r33-34 gtr skyline intercooler, I htink it would do the trick to start with.
My question is, what are the dimensions of the gtr cooler (the net doesn't tell me!!) and does anyone here think that it will fit behind a ra23 bumper bar?

How about a custom job? They can then do your inlet and outlets to suit then, as well as tailor the size for your bumper. From what I see, second hand GTR coolers are $900+, I recently got my 550 X 330 X 73 custom for $1050 fitted to the car. (unless you have access to a cheap core)

The going rate for a GTR core is about $800 though I have seem them as cheap as $600. A mate of mine is upgrading his cooler soon and wants about $800 for the original.

I can get a gtr cooler with end tanks for $600, that's why I'm bothering to ask the question.
Where doesn't the cooler fit, do you know?

GTR cores are too wide for an RA23, you would have to remove the inner headlights.

Actually, in addition to that, I do have to buy a core now, what sort of space do you have behind one of these front bars to fit a cooler?

Get a shop to measure up the room behind the grille for a core. The size depends on how much surgery you want to do on the front end / bumper. The JZA70 has it's standard intercooler at a slant to fit a taller one into a not so tall space. They will then give you a selection of ready made sizes of cores to chose from, and the end tank design. Remember the end tanks are very important to the overall intercooler flow/efficiency

Or grab a tape measure and do it yourself? Sheesh, this is hardly rocket science...

I know it's a simple task, however, my car presently doesn't HAVE a front end, which makes it extremely difficult to measure up!

BTW, a 600x300x73mm (core only) WILL fit without having to remove the inner headlights, but you will have to do some pretty fancy end tank work....how do i know?? Cos thats how big the bar and plate core is thats goin in the front of mine , and a quick bit of measuring and temporary mounting will attest to this.

traction: what sort of dollars did this intercooler cost?
and I am assuming you are getting someone else to work on the fancy end tanks?

Strad...
The core cost $600 (+$18.50 for shipping from Gold Coast). Its bar and plate and is purpose built for performance applications.
The guy thats doin the tanks and pipe work is charging me $250-$300 for the end tanks (dual entry, single outlet) and about $350 for pipework and mounting.
i can send u pics of the core compared to a standard 1G i/c, and of what the internals of the core look like.if you like.

Have any of you guys checked out http://www.are.com.au?? They do custom intercoolers and are reasonably priced! So I have been told!
I have used them to makes some fuel tanks for boats and they have done a great job! I'm interested in seeing what kind of job they do on intercoolers! Plus I think I read somewhere that they have the most free flowing cores in Australia!
