FS: 1986.5 MK3 Supra, make an offer

G'day.
I'm thinking about selling my mk3 within next few months because I might not have enough money to own a daily driver as well... Mainly because I'm going to live on my own soon. Nothing is set though and this is just to see what I can get for it.
Anyway, here are some specs:
- original white paint
- 7m-ge (non-turbo) with 180K but going strong
- 4-spd auto
- recent full service, compression test, wheel alignment
- new set of timing belts coming
- new front shocks, new rear shocks coming soon
- new brake pads
- new Goodyear eagle tires $200 bux a piece
- Sony CD player, 10 CD stacker, yet to finish sound system... possibly with a 10" sub all round value of about $700-$800
- new 2.5" stainless exhaust from cat. converter
- interior is immaculate, going to personally go over each plastic panel and fitments to make sure it doesn't move or rattle or whatever
- original saw-blade rims (4)
- paint needs attention; theres a few touch ups here and there, and scraped off paint on left corner of rear bumper but the bumper is fine
So yeah, all up I will end up spending 6+ grand on the car, not including 8500 that was what I got it for (menage to take it down from 10k, trading skillz bro haha).
So yeah anyone interested or anyone with a serious opinion of the price tag, please make a post!

Ooops, forgot to add!
The body has absolutely no rust. The only rust I have seen is on the cat converter due to condensation, and a bit on the brake disc's.

i think 7k would be a good price not have seen your car in person, you must remember though its a 7mge, would be a great platform for a manual 1jz conversion

Hmmm... 7k? But that will be half the money I spend on the car all up... Its surely worth more?? I found one for sale in Just Car magazine, low km (probably around 60-70k), all original, only difference I seen was cleaner rims and better condition of paint job. The car is being sold for 12k by a private seller in Qld, and my mate who was recently up there said theres heaps of them, and heaps for sale. I reckon the 8500 I got it for is a decent price tag when over 5 grand is being spent to make it run better.
Anyone agree with me? Or is thug_immortal spot on?
The 1jz conversion in something I really want, but I'm not sure if I can keep the car. If the funds end up decent, and the tax man doesn't get greedy, the car will go into a 2-4 year buildup.

the thing a lot of car nuts forget, is that no matter how much you spend on a car, it really does not add value come selling time. the market determins the price, not the owner.
sad but true. I reckon $8500 is around the right money for an N/A auto in good nick. I like white supras and may give you a yell in september.

I said 7k as i havnt seen the car, for an 86 model in perfect nick i wouldnt spend more than 8500. Its auto and n/a which on these barges are not a plus.
As has been said, no matter how much money you put into your car, you are never going to get it back, yeah it adds to the value a small bit but nowhere near what you would expect.
I wouldnt pay over 7500 for an n/a auto supra, but thats me... especially when some 86 turbo models go for as little as $8500

I see where your coming from thug_immortal, but you try and find a turbo for 8500 with no rust and great interior... You would have a hard time doing so.
white83supra, I think the car will be ready late Sept, early Oct, so if you are still interested give me a P.M.
Anyone else got opinions on this Supra's value?

Hey there....
Best way is i recon, if u think its worth 8500 advertise it for 8500, and see the response you get to it, you might be right.
personally i think around 7k without seeing it buts thats just me, but as you said there are some 86 NA'S going for 12k, ive seen it too sold!!. Just depends on how badly they want it and how much they think its worse to them, put some pics up if you got any.
Good luck!!!

an '87 Ma70 auto recently sold in Qld for $2500. It had 200kkm and a dead motor but was excellent inside and out.
considering the 7mge is a boat anchor (they commonly do a head gasket every 100k) ... i reckon your looking at $6K max
as they say, the market dictates. you only have to look at this web site and see how many really good mk3s are actually selling, and when they do, for how much less than the owner expected.

8.5 is maybe pushing it even
if i had 8.5k id be looking at ma70 turbo. manual
and for 10k a jza70
unfortunately u will lose your money
the guy in qld will try and sell with no luck i think
