AE86 brake upgrade

Hi, i have an aus spec ae86 with the front disks/rear drums. I'm upgrading to a jap rear end (lsd, disks), but i was wondering if there are any common front brake swaps (e.g. graft the bottom half of some other strut on), maybe from a celica or something similar? I know of the the jap drilled or slotted rotors or whatever, but i'd really prefer something with a bigger diameter.
Also, does any one hav any prefered brake pads for street use? I've been recommended image c2 pads, but i'd like to see what peoples experiences are...
Thanks in advance.

Just a quikkie for you. I measured up RA60 struts, lower control arms and tie rods, and guess what they are the same as the KE20 corolla all except the spring diameter. Easily fixed though, simply cut off the spring holder off the AE86 and put them on the RA60 strut. You will need a 14" rim or larger. You should be able to get every thing you need from a wrecker for say.... $200 or $300. besides spring cups everything bolts on. i would recommend using the lower control arm from the RA60 as well.
Hope that helps you out.
LONG LIVE THE AE-86

hey doityourself, was the control arm bush the same between the ke20 and ra60? or do you need to get a custom bush lathed up?
i was thinking about putting scorpion control arms (to get 14mm balljoint thread), aus ae86 struts and brakes, and ae86 power steer arms in my ke25. should be able to get some lowered springs, and plenty of decent dampers around

Just a hint - RA60 struts will give you some pretty harsh positive camber...
Do a search, this topic has been covered to death

The measurements that i made were to fit on the KE 20, I only ment this as a suggestion that could be researched more, if one desired. Generally i have found that toyota have made alot of interchangable parts between models. Besides a back yard job the only other thing i can suggest is to go to someone like RPM or the likes but expect big bickies $$$ from $1500 up. Sorry i cant be anymore help.

I Have RX7 4 spot calipers and rotors on my car and they fit under 14 inch wheels this is a good conversion.

Garth,
What do the adaptors for the FC calipers cost? Are they reasonable?

Also done the FC brake conversion. Bloody great, never been able to get them to fade (EBC green pads and slotted rotors), despite trying really hard sometimes.
I can't give a direct comparison with any other options. But alloy calipers are lighter than the hilux 4pots. And keeping stock struts is a nice point too.
Probably overkill really unless you are track racing.
