Hey

Mates of mine have one of these and recently fried the auto...err... within 3 hours of them purchasing it Very Happy so, i was wondering what sorta toyota could we nick a manual gearbox out of, and do a manual conversion with it? ie can we take a K series rolla box etc?

An early 70's Corona will either be an RT81 or an RT104. Boxes from the RT104 are in great supply but are 4 speed - unsure if these will be the same length though so you may be up for a different tailshaft.

Check the build plate of your car to be sure, this will list the car model and the type of gearbox. Use this while hunting Smile

To be a little more specific, you want a W40 transmission with an R-series bellhousing (ie bolted up to an 18R or similar). Even better though, look for a W50 from an RA23/28/40 Celica, which is externally identical to the W40 but 5-speed.
