set eng to TDC, start on exhaust side with no 1 cyl lobe facing exhaust manifold there will be a notch in the cam it has to be vertical keep chain as tight as possible till the pin fits then when it is done move onto inlet in the same way then screw in top tensioner very loosly till it bottoms in to the head then rotate 360 degress and check again
hey i did a search to dig this up, and would like to add an additional question:
So as for the lower timing chain, I can put that on any way I like and it wont mean shit as long as I set the top timing chain so that the two slits in the cams are vertical while at TDC? It seems logical but I just want to comfirm that is true before i put everything back together.
