Baffles in sump? Gen1 3SGE -> Where/How in Sydney Mon, 09 August 2004 00:40 Go to next message
Do Dominator do these?

I can't get to the track till this is done, and I sometimes still get some starvation on hard cornering.

Anyone had this done before around Sydney?

How much would I be looking at?

I only really want one wall and trapdoor.

stocko atm dude, I think it has some dents from ultra-low days before I bought it.

so I am just going to get another stock one from Celicar Spares or someone here and modify it then swap 'em over Smile

You get starvation in an ST162, that's pretty unusual, I've never starved my car and I've run with nearly dick-all oil. Have you checked this with a proper gauge?

I mean it's practically a semi-baffled design as it is stock.

Yeah if I were to pick a side where it might happen it would be the right handers. Still, either I've never done enough Gs around a corner to get any kind of rattling, or there is some other factor in play (like me being deaf or something Smile )

cool bro

I read (in my hayes manual) that the oil-pickup on the Gen1 3SGE lives very close to the bottom of the sump, so any dents in the sump can quite adversly affect the ability to suck oil...

..of course this would be exacerbated around corners (how do you like that big word ay?! Smile )

I am going to try and get a cheap second hand one in good nic from Celicar Spares and get it specced up by Dominator Engine Reconditioning (who are lightening my flywheel early next week)
