hey guys,
my fuel pump was leaking fuel and when i started the car it got worse, i think its the original one - so i took it off and im going to get it replaced. so is it fucked if its leaking fuel? i always thought when they went they leaked oil.

Depends. Sometimes the rubber diapragms can tear from fatigue resulting in the pump not working. Pull it apart and have a sticky beak. A second hand one won't set you back more than $10-20 from the wreckers, or you could replace it with a low pressure electric fuel pump.

not sure - ask at an auto parts store. An old secondhand Mazda pump from the wreckers might set you back $10-20.

No it won't make your car go any better. The carburettor, if it is doing its job right, will dispense only the fuel the engine needs. Delivering more fuel to the carburettor will only result in more of it to be returned to the fuel tank (provided the fuel pressure is not so high as to overcome the needle and seat).

Your easiest and cheapest option is to just get a good secondhand mechanical pump.

Will a fuelpump(not electric)from any other enginefamily fit?
I have a 5M with a 2M fulepump (and head)and it's sucking very bad when the engine is hot(strange).
