Name: Michael
Employer: (Local Canberra firm, but don't want to name them as the quote is NOT theirs)
Quote:
"The IT indutsry...an industry where you can study endlessly to keep abreast of current and emerging technologies, only to be offered less-and-less as time goes on."
(if you think I'm kidding, I had some idiot from an agency ring me wondering if I was interested in working in level 1, 2 and 3 work for $19 an hour...and she thought she was doing me a favour!
That's what an MCSE gets you nowadays!)

Not a quote, but one you can use?
Two people, one of which is a computer tech. Without asking them if they're in the computer industry, their job, etc, how do you know which one is the computer geek?
Easy, ask them to count to five, the one that goes, "Zero, one, two, three, four, five", is the one.

'Nother one.
There's only 10 types of people in the world: Those who can count in binary and those who can't.

zero, one, two, three, four, five, wouldn't that be counting in hexadecimal?
you want a quote - best quote i ever got was from a friend contracting in IT :
"i have a meeting with my pimp"; he says
"WTF are you on about"; is my response
"i'm nothing but a whore, instead of selling my body for sex i sell my brain/knowledge - no difference"; he responds.
there are two sorts of people in the IT industry i've found over the years, the ones that know, and the ones that tell you they know. there is a BIG difference.
(jeezus i'm getting cynical in my old age)

pimp... yup. Know the feeling...
I'm a prostitute too, selling my skills in IT security rather than on the street corner or hotel room... *grin*
Another geek joke... "Why do computer geeks always mix up christmas and halloween? ...... because 31 Oct is the same as 25 Dec..."
*goes away and smacks himself in the head*
oh my g...
ok, i don't know what you really need, but:
"The IT industry is continually evolving and changing focus, so requires a great deal of commitment to the ongoing learning process. You can't just read a book and be a guru, no matter what the boot-campers say... Anyway, it's a great field to be in if you love to learn."
or some shit like that...
