Putting 7MG valves into a 4AG head - any here done it (Bill??)? How did it go, what did the guides etc. cost, any issues to be aware of?

Apparently the 7mg valve stems are about 2mm shorter than the 4ag valves so you have to run thicker shims. If you haven't ported the head and are running big cams then there is no point. But you probably have done that stuff already.

2mm is a big jump in shims! youd want to make sure they have a compatible thickness, there are only about 32 odd sizes from memory, all 0.05mm difference between each size

just buy oversized 4ag stainless ones. some of the cheaper ones are only $18 each. or standard size if you dont want to seats and guides.
