I assume that things a 3TGTE making it a TT14*
As for a 2 door, i didnt think they ever came 2 door, but its a common shape, easy to mistake for somthing else.

LSD IRS Turbo 120kW... Not bad for a Corona.
What do they weigh? Power to weight that would be a pretty quick car out of the box.

| yes they were pretty quick - sub 16 secs 400m in 1984, not too bad. Wheels had a brief drive and said they went and handled very well indeed, they were quite surprised.

| yes the 2 doors exist, and I don't think they look that ugly. I think the last RWD Celica shape that came out with the 21RC/3S/22RE was quite a shocker in the styling dept
Let's be honest - the TA/RA and ST16X Celicas looked great but the rest of them are fugly.
Anyway...Quote: | would be fun as a sleeper....

Don't forget the view from the rear....
(as most people will be seeing your tailights when you blow their doors off with a mighty 120Kw)

hahahaha
thats my brothers car in the autospeed article.
very nice to drive, not like the ozzy 1 at all. were trying to get it registered at the moment, just gotta install some side intrusion bars and it will be ready to rock and roll. so look out for it cruising around adelaide very soon.
it goes quite well for a corona aswell.
btw, it wont stay stock for long, hes got it booked in for a 3" exhaust in a couple of weeks, a front mount intercooler, lowered springs and airfilter. think hes after the plates GTT-142.

it does drift well
he only got it because it looks like any other corona out on the street, but goes a hell of a lot better. that way he has no cop hassles and people wont wanna steal it.
hes also taken off the mags and put stock wheels on it to complete the sleeper look.

what do u wanna know????
my bro's drives like a new car, has power steering, a/c, sports interior, 3tgte (performance version), irs, lsd, its a 4 seater.
aparently they came out in gtt and gtt-r models but the specs are the same for both. there was a performance version and a economy model (can tell by chassis numbers). ive read somewhere that some 3tg engines left the factory as 2ltr models. these engines were for racing purposes and had better casting and more ribbing thru the block. they also came without engine numbers.
now does any1 have any idea where we would find the engine number on the block? we have had a good look but cant find nothing. we need to find it so it can be registered.
heres where we got it from
http://home.iprimus.com.au/jverban/
ive heard that the 4 door models are getting harder to find, but there seems to be heaps of 2 doors around.

The 2 litre engine you're referring to is the 4T-GTE. Very nice but rare as the proverbial these days.
The engine number should be stamped into the block somewhere just below the inlet manifold. From memory it's very hard to see with the manifold attached.
