anyone know of any problems that might arrise from using an ecu intended for an auto gearbox in a manual car-its a 4age ecu and just notice it has A/T stamped on it
so if anyone knows the differences id love to hear

While I have no direct experience with 4A-GE's, I'd say it will make little or no difference if you use an auto ECU. I ran my 6M-GE with an auto ECU and manual trans, no problems at all. Ditto for my current 2JZ-GTE.

im most makes of cars you can swap auot computer into a manual but not the other way round.

auto ecus will generally have slightly different timing maps to those of manual ones. less aggressive to suit the nature of the auto trans. usually you will find the manual harness doesnt have the pins at the ecu plug for the auto control, where relevant. if in doubt, check the pinouts inside the ecu...
