okay, i was puttin in some new front splits n decided to pull out the non-workin old unmarked alarm. I managed to taken most of it out, with the exception of one blue wire runnin to the rear of the car, up the A pillar n thru thr roof lining ( it also goes to some ignition point). While takin out these wires i have manged to cross/short 2 wires (heard that zappin clicking noise....u know the one)- they appeared to just run to the flashin LED which didnt flash anymore.
Today i went to use the sunroof n its now not working - could the sunroof be linked to the alarm in some way n the wires ive shorted be affect this?I know i really need to trace the wires exactly but its a pain, no idea what the alarm is and i dont think it came with the sunroof - will call around tomorrow morning. Any other ideas on how to fix besides running a new power line?
alarm might be monitoring access. circuit to monitor current draw (not a good thing but installer's might have been lazy) and sun roof is probably also powered (or its power relay is triggered by) the access. circuit.
does you clock or fan work? or radio?
the zapp/click is the sound of a fuse dying after you shorted a 12V rail to ground.
