why engineer cert. a 1G-GE conversion
Tue, 10 August 2004 10:08
hey all,
why would you need to engineer certify a 1G-GE conversion into say an RA40. the certification plate say capacity of 1968cc - that dont change- and the part where it says the engine is only painted on. you could easily scratch the 18r out and carfully paint on 1G-GE with a stencil. i wouldnt think that many policemen would know the toyota code system.
i dunno jus wonderin.

Cause when you go to get a blue slip to change your engine number he will look in his blue book and see what engine it should have, yes it's listed by type, and verify the number. At least the book he had when I did mine had engine types listed even with their number designaions.
