Interim conversion - 1JZ palletmobile! Tue, 10 August 2004 14:07 Go to next message
All,
finally after months of stuffing around I've strapped the 1JZ down to a pallet, wired it up to a dummy MA61 harness, given it fuel & started it.
Idles quite nicely seeing as it's been sitting for nearly a year. Next step is to fill it with coolant and let it really warm up. For a video, grab http://home.iprimus.com.au/phay/palletmobile.avi You'll also need the latest DivX codec.
Can't quite figure out the best spot for a seat on the pallet though!

Regards

Peter
(Euro spec MA61. 1JZ will get in there someday)

Sorry about the link - one full stop too many.
Try it now.
Best thing is to do 'save target as', save the file & then play back.

Regards

Peter

Damn. I thought when I put a 4AG in a wheelbarrow, it was a pretty slick piece of gear - obviously I'm going to have to up the ante now!

It's still a motor held in place with a seat belt. Kudos! Smile

Hmmm - here's me thinking it wasn't so bad, idling with just the cats is quite tolerable (no complaints from the neighbours yet).
Maybe I should stick that centre resonator in before installing. I thought the exhaust was 3" but when I went to buy gaskets I discovered it was 3.5" - serious drainpipe material.

Just remember, the engine will torque to the right, so a left hand position is enviable for optimal weight and torque distribution!!!

personally, as awesome as it sounded, it needs a resonator......

WOT at 4000rpm and people from a block away have turned to see what the noise is all about

Yep - your memory serves you well.
The cats still have the scrape where he bottomed out (at least once!).
