Cops wastin time in suburban brisbane

i just got a ticket for my car facing the wrong way when parked on the street - $30 bucks because it was the safest way to unload and park the car.
background: car towed home from exhaust place this morning - there's no intake attached (e.g. undrivable) and i unload facing the wrong way but means front of car is closer to house. I cannot put it in garage as i have none due to house renovations being underway.
the story from the cop: allegedly, a complaint had been made the local State Member (a Mr Bruce Flegg - what a name!) about cars in the suburb being parked across driveways, on footpath and facing wrong way. yeah, sure...
what i think: someone nearby has had enough of the building work (earth moving gear, tree removal, lotsof dust & noise for last week) so they complain about the obvious - my fuken car.
why this shits me: it's a public holiday, i've been home most of the morning, there's very little traffic in the street, there's no builders here (public holiday today), i only got the car towed home this morning...
some nearby, lazy, wanker has rung up the local liberal member to make a complain on their behalf - so gutless they can't ring the cops directly.
fark - why not just complain directly, or leave a note on my car?
oh... and this cop's got nothing better to do that cruise around leafy Kenmore looking for cars parked across driveways, on the footpath and facing the wrong way... like that's putting my tax dollars to good use...
/rant....

I had a similar fine in SA...
had my celica parked backwards on the road (had just rolled it off the grass to mow and left it parked there for about an hour)
Cops 'just happened to be passing and spotted it' is what they claim (cept I live on a bloody horseshoe street where they wouldn't have seen) and since its a danger to the public (because reflectors are not facing the right way for night time - middle of the day when it happened) they gave me a fine and told me to move the car straight away.
useless cops I say - I have no problems if they bust me for something 'real' but surely they have better things to do?
I mean what about bust the little shitf*cks that tag all over the local buildings - or the dude over the skatepark that cause huge ass fights everynight?

I got fined for jaywalking recently, and have also been done for not wearing a pushbike helmet, privy to many a fine for "undue noise" and know plenty of people who have been fined for endangering lives at 64km/h in a 60km/h zone
Yet, about 8 years ago we saw a police car pulling a skid (!!), made a complaint and.. no result. I've had two pushbikes reported stolen and... no result. A friend was involved in a hit & run accident recently, got a partial numberplate, full description of the driver & vehicle.. has been a week now and... no result.
I'm all for decorum, but I say we overthrow the government.

haha yesterday it was warm but not hot so i left my son in the car for 10 mins as we were looking at car yard after car yard....gone 10 mins come back and the pigs are there. apparently its not against the law to leave children in cars (in summer its a diffrent story)
but they still pass on your details to family dept or what ever and puts a black mark agianst ya name. its kindda funny how quick they got there when last year we got broken intop over $5000 worth of house ear (tv/stezza/video/PS2 ect) got stolen and they took 3 fucking days to come out.
then only 43 months ago when our car got broken into and stripped they came out looked at the car gave us a crime number and left i was like WTF!. THey didnt give a shit. Also my hubby had sum gierl put him up for rape and the detective said "i know you didnt do it but cause she said you did i have to arrest you" like come on.
since then i have absolutly no respect for police.

hrm
I had my wreck towed to my place, dumped facing the wrong way.
had council rangers come by twice, both times *really* reasonably guys/girls (one of each), had a chat, explained to them my situation, and they said it was visible, so not really a danger, and on their way they went.
Once again, it was obviously neighbours pissed about having a wreck (albeit a registered one) parked in their pretty street

yep - is stupid that they enforce it on a quiet street... funnily... no, make that stupidly enough, the guy said because the front o the car was 'facing the wrong way'... so if someone came around the corner, say my car, the would instinctively drive to the left of it... stright into our yard/construction-site... yeah ... sure...
i just want the local papers to pick up on the story that it was the local state member who prompted the cops to come around abd blitz the suburb - what a good job our state parliament rep was doing hey? making sure all these voters got a $30 reminder NOT to vote for him next time.

The holdup alarm went off at work recently when i was working. Within 2 min cops/security ring and say cops will be out soon (even though it was a false alarm. I had no idea it went off). Put some pies in oven then turn around and theres 3 cop cars in driveway. Mind you when I reported a breakin at my last work they took about an hour to show up and didnt' really care.

i dont wanna jynx myself but i park the wrong way everyday cause i gotta drive dowbn the street to go to work and my car is pretty load and couldnt be stuffed doing a U turn in the mornings.
iv had heaps of cops come down/up my street and have so far never had a problem *fingers crossed it never happens* but if anything happened i would argue and not take the fine cause you can see the car wether day or night from all the chrome on it shining at you
i also once had cops come to my house cayuse they got a report that i was stripping a stolen car!!!!!!!!!!!!! they get there and tell me this and i laughed in his face and he got the shits hard, i said to him firstly i got a car on the road that is all rusted out and nothing in it, secondly i got the exact same car in front of your face in the driverway, thirdly im stupid to be stripping a stolen car in front of my house and thoirdly the towing is coming in an hour to tow it to the tip and im taing the diff off... and he still had the nerve to tell me to do it inside which is when i replied 'IF I DO THAT HOW AM I GONNA GET IT OUTSIDE FOR THE TOWY???'
he gave me a dumb look and took off
