Yeah blew my mtx thunder4000 sub today and trying to work out why and where to go from here
Got a Jaycar 4x100 amp with 2 6x9's running on the front and had the sub running bridged off the rear output, til it blew today !
My fuse(30A) blew on the power cable coming from the battery and then the sub went kaput.
I dont understand why, I had been runnign this setup for around 6 weeks?
Is the amp insufficient ?
thanks
justin

took a while for the laquer on the speakers inductive wire to burn off at which point the speaker would have shorted causing a huge power draw blowing the fuse.
thats my conclusion or something in the amp shorted out and failed. just taking a guess

remember your 6x9's are on another channel maybe only one channel of the amp blew? plug the 6x9's into the channel you had the amp on and see how it goes
