What other dash tops will fit into a RA28? Will 23 dshes fit in? What about earlier models? Have a cracked top section and i figure it will be cheaper to find a replacement than get it repaired?
Thanks

EDIT- I dont wont to hear any shit about trying to fit 23 dashes in my car either! hehe. Should choose my words a little better...

TA23, RA23 and RA28 dashes are all the same, problem is that most of them are in the same boat as yours, with at least cracks and some a lot worse, mines cracked right through and split into two pieces Sad

i've seen recovered ones and they look pretty mint but fairly expensive unless you know the right people, think its about $700 ish to get done over here (NZ), probably similar in Aussie.

i was having a look through a TT132 corona not that long ago and the dash top looked very similar, as in width and basic layout. i think you'd have to change the instruments as well and they were square and slightly moderner looking but i didn't like them too much, don't think they'd suit the celicas but might be worth looking into for you? there's a few other compatible bits like almost everything in the engine bay including crossmember's.

TA22 dashes are different, the instruments and dashtop are all completely different and i think you'd have to swap the frame behind the dash to get it to fit. most of them have the same cracking problems as the 23/28's anyway.

cheers
Matt

Buy a copy of "The Parts Peddler" about $3.00 from your local newsagency. A mob called Restore a Dash has been doing my 22 and 23 dash pads for years, cost about $120.00. They use a vacuum forming process, and come in any colour you want!

regards Chuck.

Thanks Chuck.
That might be a good option considering it is going to be tough to get my hands on a sec hand replacement black dash.
Cheers.
