20V ST what should be replaced before installation?

Hi guys,
Readying the 20V ST for installation into the clubman and wondered what the consensus of opinion was on what should be replaced/checked before it goes in. This engine will spend a fair percentage of its life on the track so will be working hard.
I think I read somewhere that replacing the water pump is a good precautionary measure. Opinions?
Where am I likely to get parts like waterpumps/belts/gaskets etc in Brisbane?
Does anyone have part numbers/prices they paid/contact names for parts?
Any and all help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Julian.

Water pump, timing belt, use all new water hoses, check out the starter+alternator, get rebuilt if at all questionable, replace the rear main, usual stuff! Obviously you also replace crap like oil, plugs, etc.!

On the engine the cam belt[even if it looks new]oil, filter, plugs, clutch if necessary [pending inspection]is about all I can think of.You may also want to get the injectors cleaned. The other basics are in the installation.I haven't seen a crook water pump in several engines, but check it for play before fitting.I have cam belts & gasket SETS [not seperate gaskets]if you have trouble sourcing locally.I run a 20v in a clubman also.

Thanks for the replies guys, any part numbers? Do you just go to Toyota for pumps/belts/plug leads etc or does repco etc stock em?
I seem to remember that the timing belt off a Porsche 924 is the same as the ST?
What about the water pump, is a regular 4AGE water pump the same? or is it specific to the 20V?
Thanks again,
Julian

julian,
924 belt is the belt for the "7age" conversion.
you can use a ae93 type waterpump, but they don't quite fit - you have to modify the cambelt covers if you do that. 20v pump is available.
i have seals etc on the shelf. e-mail me if you need some parts for your motor. also look at www.ozclubbies.com

The belt for a Camira (not sure which model) will fit. It's 1mm wider, but, seems to work fine. I just took the old belt to my local car parts place and they found it for me.

Hey, does anyone here now if the alternator and starter motor from a 16V 4AGE will fit a 20V ST?
Just whilst on the topic of 20V ST (its not exactly related to the thread topic, sorry) has anyone here tried using a 4AGZE gearbox with a 20V ST? if so, how did they go? I realise that the GZE and 20V boxes have different ratios, and that the GZE ratios may not be suited to the 20V but i just wanted to know what kind of experiences people have had with them. After all, the LSD in a GZE box is a bit hard to go past (unless your lucky enough to find a 20V box with an LSD)
Hehehe, sorry if the questions are a bit dumb

kenno:
they just bolt up, but be aware that you will have to change your clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel to suit the larger input spline on the GZE box!!
