first post ! Does ARP make universal peices? for all 4ag blocks? and a few other q's Sun, 15 August 2004 01:30 Go to next message
I have a 2nd gen 4agze with map, currently awaiting an adaptor plate for my 4age tvis large port to gze small port, turbo, fuel pump, MT LTX-8, old 7m supra injectors and a walbro fuel pump. Its like xmas for my AE86 !

Anyway to my questions lol, i need to get ARP head studs,rod bolts ect. Do they list different parts for the diff 4a motors? Or do they all use the same, its my understanding that the gze has bigger rod ends, so wouldnt the bolts be different? Same for the rest, could someone clear this up for me ?

Also with the ltx-8, how much fo the stock ignition do i actually use? It says i need to buy there ignitors ect, so do i toss my dli's onto ebay? Does the stock 4age blue top ecu control stupid stuff while the ecu just does the motor stuffs?

As far as mating the t50 tranny, im told with the gze i can use the stock 4ag flywheel and a better clutch. Also who makes adaptors for the w** series supra trannys? I have no clue what a surge tank looks like or how to make one can someone shed some light?

Thx from canada with all the other igloo sleepin seal clubbers.

PS: Are Australians as pissy as the english? Cause i can't tolerate my best friend some days

1. ARP only seem to have one listing for "4AG". Clicky-clicky.

2. No idea about the Microtech, maybe try their web site?

3. T50 will have a very limited lifespan behind a GZE. Upgrade to a W58 as soon as you can.

4. Dellow Automotive make 4A -> W58 bellhousings. Clicky-clicky.

5. A surge tank looks like a small upright cylinder, sealed at both ends, usually constructed out of aluminium or stainless steel. Do a Google search and you'll soon find all the info you need.

6. Yes, all Australians are pissy.

7. Watch out for Scott. He's a dick.
