Does anyone know where to get rear quarter panels for an AE86 sprinter.
Can you still get them from toyota?
how much are they roughly if you can still get em?

i doubt youll be able to get them, unless you get them ex japan, then its still a big maybe, and itll be incredibly expensive.
id say just cut one off a wreck is the best way to go. there are usually people wrecking sprinters in the parts for sale section.

You can still buy them new from Japan, however the price last time I checked was $500+ per panel, before freight.

toyota aus wouldnt have a bar of it when i asked for a import.
told me that part number was discontinued + out of stock

MMMM $500 is expensive i will just hack one of a wreck car this isn't for me buy the way a mate has one and hit a telegraph pole at 5 km/h but still big dent.
it's defenitly drivers side but thanx anyway.

Yep, two were recently imported and attached to a dedicated race car here in Perth.

Hey AE86drift.
Did you give them the original part code?
Technically, the item corresponding to that code may not exist anymore.
But chances are, TMC had a few more production runs of these items, and hence, will be under a different code.
Thats what happened when I was buying the whether strips on my car. The guy at my local toyota dealer went out of his way to find out the new production part code (it just differed by a character).
But most guys at toyota wouldn't help you out, and they'll just tell you to piss off.
Buying stuff from toyota is cool, cause you don't have to pay for shipping from japan.

Before going to the trouble of getting a new quarter you mind want to talk to a decent panel guy. Tthey can straighten out some unbelievable bends and so on!

good "panel beaters" are getting few and far between! most just fint new panels straight away! but yes getting it tapped, bogged, welded straight is better cheaper than a who;e new 1/4
|
