 Tacho shorts out ignition system

Was installing efi on my 2tg but it would keep conking out when driving, when fiddling with a million things it came down to the tacho when it was disconected it went fine, when connected it concked out often, anyone know why and how i could get it working.
the tacho is on a ta22 stock tacho.

Hmmm odd. Do you have the tacho signal wire connected to the -ve terminal of the coil? Check the wire for any signs of damage; if it's earthing against the body somewhere that might cause problems.

yep was on the negative of the coil, i will check the wire but it was only shorting out the electronic system it would nto short out the points/Carbies system.
