What do you mean '"could" catch on'?
I'm running a 4'x12"x18", Fluval 304 External, Jebo lamp hood w/ 'Sakura' Ryukins and a wild 15+cm Black Moor.
Trust me, it's caught on.

Indian, maybe it'd be good to go to an Aquarium for that stuff, can't just use anything but I'm sure you know that. The St. Kilda aquarium is good but a long way from you. Bentleigh also has a lot of wood and stone to choose from.

As an aside, what fish will you have? I heard the other day that some species of bottom-feeders actually feed on the soft spongy wood as it decays in the water. Pretty cool??

That'd be so awesome though. I don't have driftwood in my setup though at my Moor is so uncoordinated it'd tear her to shreds.

I think she's pregnant at the moment actually... Rolling Eyes

i have few , agassizi and kribensis cichlids, silver, red tail , and albino shark,

some other cichlid i dont know of it was bought as a test fish for the 6 feet aquarium lollllllll, still living along with all the others

few kinds of gouramis , thats it for the 6 feet tank taking it slow for now ,

in the other aquarium , i have plenty of different mollies , swordtails , guppys , neons , cardinals , black and red phantoms , angelfish, few kinds of corydoras (bronze, albino , peppered) catfish , clown loach , brizzlenose catfish, zebra danio, serpae tertras , and few ram cichlids

the corydoras catfish feed on the wood as well . so do some small cichlids ,

think mines 6feet x 2 feet x 1 foot just stared putting fish in it would be better to put the drift wood and all in there first

i have an external filter as well fluval , and a undergravel filter

cheers

i only have a 3 footer with some rainbows, some mono's, a salmontail catfish, a pleck and at the moment a whole heap of goldfish as our fishpond has a leak.
im sure that if you get drift wood from the saltwater river and soak it for long enough it wont kill your fish. fish shop guys just say shit like that so they can charge you 50 bucks for a stick. my fish are freshwater i and have sandstone rocks straight out of my back yard in my tank, and contrary to what a number of fish shop guys told me it hasnt affected my fish in any way.

if you chuck some rocks in you might want to boil them first to get rid of all the crap on them.
