farken nice dude, farken nice...

What sort of paint did you use on the rocker cover because I am considering doing mine white before the motor goes into the car...

Did you have to pull it off to spray it??

I only painted the plug & belt covers. Sand, apply plastic primer, then several coats of Candy Red enamel. Dead easy!

I'm going to have to get some new 'hightening springs' on the back - with the 3" zorst and those camber-f*cker (/\) Lovells, the cat is dragging on the ground over major bumps Crying or Very Sad

Good to see it all coming together mate!

So did you ever find the jzx90 wiring diagram or not?

nice painting too! engine bay looks pretty schmicko but I would polish the cam covers like my new engine has.

pics are in here

Have you had enough drive time to make any comments on the computer?

Guys,
I can vouch for this car - was in it over the weekend.
That 1JZ is awesome in the MA61 Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Chris - a few questions about yours:
- what did you use to polish the cam covers?
- is that a new drive belt tensioner? It is soooo shiny. When I got my 1J the bearing in the tensioner was stuffed so I priced a new one and it was some hideous price - so I just replaced the bearing.
- any particular reason for pulling the inlet plenum off, or 'just because you could'?

Cheers

Peter
(now spurred on to get my 1J in)

Chris,

The guy who wired my car did get a JZX90 diagram in from Japan. I'll PM you his details.

Still early days, but I've been mightily impressed with the Haltech. Base 1JZ maps were excellent. I'm going to play around with datalogging this weekend.

I didn't want to loose the 2500 TWIN TURBO stickers on the cam covers, so didn't polish. But it looks like you've managed to do both. How?

cheers,
Justin

Oh, man - does it move Very Happy
And even changes gears (clutch pedal set kndly supplied by CLG)!

Though with the 4.1 diff and JZA80 box (with mechanical speed sensor off an import 4.1 diff and W-series box equiped Hiace van Confused ), 1st gear hardly gets a work-out.

This conversion is awesome! But, I think with those mods it should be capable of at least 200-220rwkw.

Mine makes 210rwkw at 13psi. The stock injectors max out at 220rwkw.

WRX is 4wd, 1JZ's don't get much traction, good luck with that!

Yeh - I'm going to work on a cold air feed in the next week or so. Then, with a couple of extra pounds of boost, I'll go looking for 220rwkw. Just for bragging rights - seat-of-the-pants-meter is redlining at FUN Very Happy .
