Just get some normal ones and get them painted, if done right, you'll have tyres that perform well AND look good.

Hi Rod, I bought a set of GT whitewall tyres some years back. Just check your Yellow Pages for a "GT" tyre supplier.
regards Chuck.

GT,
Mate if I find a place that paints them on I will let you know.
I want them in a 245/60 and a 215/65 for the 65. It looks luike I have lined up a set in the mean time which will at least keep the old girl on the road. (The current tyres are well past legal )
I just need to have a pair of steelies widened for the rear.
Gold 28,
Mate since I will most likely be judging the original classic trophy the old girl may be there but I won't be elligible for ANY trophies. But yeah I would like it looking the part by then

Theres a guy in Adelaide who paints white and red walls on any tyre, its not very durable but only costs $60 for him to come out and do all 4.
Im sure there is a similar buisiness in your state?

Rod,
there used to be a van that drives around and does the whitwalling (called classic whitewall or some such thing) - did you try yellow pages on line?
That is one tuff Fiat Toppolino (spelling?)

Skaney:
I think the guy in adelaide actually cuts a strip of rubber out of the tyre and puts in a new strip of red or white rubber. My uncles neighbour had it done and that what he told my uncle was done.
Doesn't sound too good if you ask me, but its only a thin strip.

yeah thats what ive been told too.
The front tyres of Steve-AE86s car have had this done.
I wouldnt be too worried about the small strip they take out, its bugger all. But they obvioussly dont hold their colour as well as the real deal, but when you can get it done to your choice of tyre, who cares?
